About The Owners
Armando made his way to Fresno from Los Angeles in search of a fresh start. That fresh start came with the sacrifice of leaving his wife, two daughters and son behind as he began his mission of getting on his feet. Armando was homeless for several months before finally being able to bring his family to their new home and reunite.
His first job was at Wendy’s. Shortly after, Armando met Chic Brooks, owner of Country Waffles, Brook’s Ranch and Jeb’s Blueberry Hill in Tulare, California. Chic offered Armando a job on his ranch where he served as a ranch assistant, attending to all needs of the location. Brooks became a mentor to Armando and began showing him the ins and outs of the restaurant business. Armando started dish washing at Fresno’s Jeb’s Blueberry Hill and later became the cook and eventually the kitchen manager.
In July 2016, Armando became the owner of Jeb’s Blueberry Hill Fresno supported by his wife Ruby who assists with the accounting. “I’m doing this from the heart,” says Armando. “I’m grateful to God for my journey of where I came from and where I am now.” Their son is also involved in the business as a cook and dishwasher at Jeb’s.
Outside of the restaurant, Armando and Ruby are a part of the leadership team branched off of People’s Church. In addition, Ruby leads her own clothing ministry for young men, women and adults. Over half of Jeb’s staff team have been with the business for over 10 years and Armando is proud to serve them. “Once you walk in our doors, you become like family to us,” says Ruby.
